I've been too busy with music lately to do much in the way of art, but here's something I've been toying with. It'll probably never be properly finished so I decided to go ahead and post it.

BTW, if anyone knows of a source for pickguards for Fender 5 string Jazz basses, I'd like to get a black one for mine but can't even locate a part number for one. Thanks!

Bought a dead guy's bass today. Plays really nice, very smooth feel.

This week was hell and next week doesn't look much better. Hopefully I'll have time to finish at least one of the things I'm working on this weekend. Whew...

So much work to do, so little time to do it. The response to "I Never Forgot About You" has been really inspiring though, and I've got lots of ideas for new pieces.

I'm really happy with the response "I Never Forgot About You" has had. I like the idea that the things we use, whether for work or play, become sort of infused with our energy. As a child I felt bad when a toy was deemed trash and had to be discarded. I used to worry quite a bit that my toys resented me for this (and I might have been right). I always imagined that the toy still existed somewhere and still remembered the good times we'd had. Once you give an object the benefit of believing it's alive, which children do all the time, it's only a small jump to imagining all sorts of things that it might think or believe or feel.

I may have spent too much time alone as a child.
